Terms & Conditions
The agreement between you and Verdano Atelier when you commission a piece. We have tried to keep the language as plain as the legal framework allows.
Last reviewed: 12 March 2026
1. Parties
"We", "us" or "the atelier" means Verdano Atelier Ltd, a private limited company registered in England and Wales (no. 11458702), with its registered workshop at 47 Beaufort Place, London EC1N 8RT. "You" means the person or organisation commissioning a piece of furniture or buying from a published collection.
2. Quotations & orders
Every quotation we issue is fixed-price and valid for 30 days from issue. It lists the agreed dimensions, materials, finish and a target delivery window. An order is confirmed when we receive a signed quotation and a 50% deposit; only then does work begin.
3. Lead times
The lead time on each quotation is our honest best estimate of when the piece will leave the workshop. Where natural materials, third-party leather or restricted timbers move that estimate, we will write to you within five working days of becoming aware. Lead time is not an essential term unless agreed in writing as such.
4. Payment
50% on order; 50% on delivery. Larger commissions (above £15,000) may be paid in three equal instalments by prior agreement. Payment is by bank transfer or card; we do not accept cash above £4,000.
5. Variations
Until joinery begins, design adjustments are free. Once frames are cut, structural changes will be re-quoted. Fabric and finish swaps can usually be accommodated up to four weeks before scheduled delivery — we will tell you honestly when the cut-off has passed.
6. Delivery, access & risk
We measure access at the brief stage. If, on delivery day, a piece will not fit, we will retreat to the workshop, reduce it to a knockdown carcass and re-stitch the upholstery on-site at no charge — provided you disclosed access dimensions accurately. Risk passes to you on completion of installation.
7. Title
Title in a finished piece passes to you only when full payment has cleared.
8. Guarantee
We guarantee frame, joinery and spring suspension against structural failure for twelve years from the date of delivery. We guarantee upholstery and fabric against manufacturing defect — but not normal wear, fading or accidental damage — for two years. The guarantee is non-transferable.
9. Bespoke and consumer rights
Pieces commissioned to your specification are excluded from the standard 14-day distance-selling cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. We strongly encourage workshop visits and sample boxes specifically to mitigate this — please use them.
10. Liability
Nothing in this agreement excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury, fraud, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, our total liability for any one commission is capped at the price you paid for that commission.
11. Governing law
This agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any dispute will be heard in the courts of England and Wales.
12. Contact
Questions, queries or formal complaints go to Verdano Atelier Ltd, 47 Beaufort Place, London EC1N 8RT, or [email protected]. We acknowledge complaints within five working days and aim to resolve them within twenty.
