Privacy Policy
Plain-English explanation of what we do with the information you give us.
Last reviewed: 12 March 2026
1. Who we are
Verdano Atelier Ltd ("we", "the atelier") is a private limited company registered in England and Wales (company no. 11458702), with our workshop and registered office at 47 Beaufort Place, London EC1N 8RT. We are the data controller for the information described below. You can reach us at [email protected] or +44 20 4571 8392.
2. The information we collect
When you submit the enquiry form, write to us, or visit the workshop, we ask for whatever the conversation requires — typically your name, an email address, a phone number, and a written brief about the piece you have in mind. If you commission a piece, we additionally hold your delivery address, billing details and any project drawings or specifications.
Our website logs the bare minimum needed to keep the pages working: an anonymised IP address, the page you arrived on, and the type of browser you are using. We do not load third-party tracking pixels.
3. Why we hold it
Your enquiry is held to reply to it, draft a quotation, and (if you proceed) deliver and guarantee a piece of furniture. After a commission completes, we keep the project record so we can re-cover, repair or quote a follow-on piece — many of our clients return for a second commission.
4. How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become commissions are deleted from our systems after 24 months. Active commission records are kept for the lifetime of the relevant guarantee (twelve years from delivery). Tax-relevant invoices are kept for the period required by HMRC, currently six years.
5. Sharing
We do not sell, rent or trade your details. The only third parties who see them are: our delivery partners (delivery address only, on the day of delivery); our accountant (billing details, for VAT and tax filing); and our hosting provider, who handles encrypted backups of the workshop's CRM. Each is bound by a written confidentiality agreement.
6. Your rights
You may ask us, free of charge, what we hold about you, to correct anything inaccurate, or to delete your record (subject to any tax-retention obligations). Send the request to [email protected] and we will reply within 30 days. If you are unhappy with our response you may complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
7. Security
The CRM in which we hold your enquiry is hosted on encrypted UK-based servers. The workshop computers are encrypted at rest. Paper drawings and physical samples carrying client names are kept in the back office, which is locked when the workshop is closed.
8. Changes to this policy
We will revise this page if our practices change. The "last reviewed" date at the top is updated each time. For substantive changes we will email anyone with a current commission before the new version takes effect.
